A New Discovery

Each Christmas vacation, my brothers-in-law come to visit. Last year, we went to the beach. Last May, we went to Alaminos. This time around, instead of the promised return to Manila Hotel, (my kids just like the bathtub), we were planning to go to Zoobic. Hubby had his field trip there a few months back so we thought it was time to bring the kids to the zoo.

The original plan was to go visit Zoobic Safari and Subic Ocean Adventure. While doing research, I changed my mind about it. I thought that Subic would tire the kids out even before they arrive even if we pass through SCTEX. Plus during my research of Zoobic, I found out about a different zoo which is nearer and perhaps more kid-friendly. I discovered Zoocobia and Paradise Ranch!

Paradise Ranch and Zoocobia became my first choice of alternative as places to visit. Included in the plan was a visit to Nayong Pilipino and El Kabayo but our real purpose was Zoocobia and if we could visit the other places that would be great too.

Zoocobia as my kids termed it, is a petting zoo. They got opportunities of close encounters with goats, birds, a bearcat and other animals. They got to feed the goats with milk in baby bottles. They tried to feed lovebirds with birdseed but got scared and a little hurt by the claws of the birds that they ran screaming out of the bird cage.

We got to Zoocobia first. The first thing we did was had lunch. We reached the place at 11 am. We left our house around 7:30. We had lunch at the restaurant in Zoocobia, and the food was great! Even my kids love the Breaded Chicken Fillet! They love breading, so that was my choice. For the guys in the photo, I chose the grilled pork chop. For my mom and I, we had breaded fish fillet which was served with a garden salad dressed with mustard and yummy potato fries. We ordered extra rice since it wasn't provided with the meal. The lunch was cheap, filling, and tasted great. My kids want to eat there everyday, so they tell me.

After lunch, we started the tour. A tour guide named Resty was our guide for our stay. We were told that we could watch a live animal show when we finished our tour. We got to see ostriches, an alpaca, Wagyu cow, greyhound dogs, love birds, owls, snakes, my kids enjoyed seeing a miniature horse and a Shetland horse.

Best of all , my kids loved being part of the show when they volunteered to help the dog do his tricks. In the photo above, my kids held the hoops as the dog jumped through each hoop. Then they held the hoop closer together so the dog could jump 2 hoops in a single jump.

I highly recommend that you visit Zoocobia if you want your kids to appreciate the animals. Watch out for my next post where I talk about Paradise Ranch.

The Year That Was

This is the year when:

Both of my kids started attending big school, my former alma mater. Amazingly tiring yet amazingly rewarding since both of them seemed to enjoy it. It was a big trial for all of us, but the kids managed beautifully after a rocky month.
We were able to go to a trip outside our city with the whole family. The fabulous thing about is that we got to attend a beautiful wedding and stayed at no less than Manila Hotel.
I got to go out and have a little social life.
I was going to start a business but was not able to push through.
God blessed me by making me pregnant with my 3rd child.
I won some contests on the web and also went on hiatus in the blogging world.
I discovered DAs and found opportunities to earn money online
I got scammed via paypal to gcash exchange
I decided that when I have enough money I will do paypal to gcash exchange as a legitimate seller.

Dear Santa,

I've been good this year, yet someone scammed me from my future Christmas gift to hubby. Can i get a job? Anything online? Well, somehow it doesn't really matter what you give me this year. I just hope my kids are gonna be happy. As people say, Christmas is for the kids, and kids at heart. I belong to the latter. So does my hubby. I still haven't found anything nice for my mom and she deserves to have something nice. I only have a couple of nieces and nephews that are on my list but if I can't provide, would you provide them with gifts?

I hope that next year will be better and that I'll be more prepared. Christmas should come everyday but then you'd be so tired. So never mind. We have no chimney so try the windows instead. I am not sure if my kids will be leaving milk and cookies for you, we only have man made milk. My kids are allergic to cow's milk. Take care Santa. Hope to find lots of stuff under the tree this year for the kids.

When in London...

I am a Harry Potter fan. I signed up for Pottermore. I would love to visit London someday. I have relatives and a classmate there. It must be very interesting. It would be a dream come true to tour the castles, Westminster Abbey where Prince William married Kate Middleton. That would be very amazing!

I wonder how it would be to live in Top London loft conversions. I think lofts are great living spaces. New York residences are also defined as lofts. I think my cousins live in lofts. I wonder whether they belong to Middlesex loft-conversion group .

There's a lot of history in London. I just think about Philippa Gregor's novels and instantly I am curious as to how the places described and how does the lineage of the Tudors live on.

I would like to see Big Ben. I also wouldn't want to miss visiting Oxford as it is the most mentioned school in movies. I'm also curious about flea markets. What great finds would I uncover there? There are a lot of places that are certainly worth a first and second look. I wonder if it would be difficult to go there.

London is also the setting in my head for Arthurian Legends. King Arthur, Merlin, Knights of the Round Table. These are just a few of the things that fill my head when I think of London. What about you?

I miss small giveaways

I miss winning. Discovering small, obscure and little known giveaways make for a bigger chance in winning. So I miss them. I'm in panic mode as Monday approaches, it is my son's 4th birthday. My kids aren't lucky on their birthdays. I usually have less and less budget for their parties at school. I'm just glad that I was able to buy some gifts for them which is reserved for Christmas.

I found some at Multiply and Multiply is currently having a promo of free shipping for items bought that are worth 400 Ph. Pesos and up! I think that's a great deal! I got them some fun toys. I just wish I had earned a lot more from blogging to be able to buy them better gifts. Perhaps, next year will be better.

I hated the fact that I got scammed. My mistake. Big mistake. I am never going to do paypal to gcash exchange ever. Maybe when I'm rich I'll do that business. I want to do a legitimate online business. Maybe I'll enter the world of money conversion, since I needed to do it, maybe others need to do it too. Lesson learned the hard way. It was money for my son's birthday gift. But Karma is a B****. Good things will come my way. I hope.

Places to Eat while Here in our City

I've always complained about our city not being a real city. We have the population and the earnings perhaps, but it's slowly getting there. The photo above is the name of a restaurant which makes our city, a city. I think it makes our city, a worthwhile visit. It is a restaurant where you can bring friends, relatives and visitors without feeling ashamed. There are only a few restaurants in our city that is worth the mention and the time.Their menu is impressive and the restaurant caters to both kids and executives.

Casa Bella has an impressive ambiance. They have live music. The food tastes great. What my Mom, hubby, the kids and I enjoyed the most was their all you can eat buffet during Wednesday nights. They offer a wide variety of viands that can be enjoyed by both kids and adults. My kids love the baby back ribs and the carbonara. I personally love the carbonara too. Since I've been a lazy carbonara cook, theirs is the only one I want to eat. My daughter loves the garlic bread that goes with it too! Yummy!

My mom raves about their Kapampangang Dinuguan. She could go and eat a whole lot of servings. Besides that they also offer pizzas and large orders of Pasta, Pansit and Carbonara!

So if you ever come and visit, I have a pretty good idea where to take you.

Today is November 11, 2011. You guys know that. Well, make this day memorable because today, my blog is officially PR2. That's what I get for over indulging in links. This blog got so much better page rank when I don't blog.

It's downright funny. I guess, I deserve it though. It's ok because I got a new spanking blog designed by no other than Miss Kaye herself. I think that's a notch on my belt. Being able to afford a customized blog design. I don't mind the PR change that much.

Still torn up to what this blog should be. I am now drowning my sorrows in playing Royal Envoy 2. It's a must try for casual gamers who want to think strategy. Hubby and I are challenging each other to get 3 stars on all levels. Except there's a bug at Level 25 on the bonus challenges.

Liking a facebook game right now. It's Coco Life. Fashion and being fashionista at its finest. A dress up game for everyone. That's all for now.

State of the Blog Again

It's easy to just slip away and disappear. Seriously, I am again reconsidering where I want this blog to go. I enjoyed the traffic of joining a blog caravan or a giveaway caravan but then of course, I have to be on the earning side to continue that.

With no blog entries, there's no work. No work, no moolah. Plus, I am rethinking about my blog topics. I could completely stop. Wait for my contracts to advertisers to end and start anew. Will starting anew be too much of a hassle? I wonder, out loud.

I could write about the little city where I am, which doesn't look like a city at all. But there's not much to talk about and being a stay at home mom, my world is only broadened by what I am able to read on the internet and the few places I get to go to.

My life is not interesting, or as interesting as others. I can't pretend it to be otherwise. My interests are wide and scattered. Nothing really defined. Just look at the mess of this blog post. Plus, I feel more and more like napping. Blame it on the first trimester.

To blog and what to blog about...that is the question.

I missed writing. So what happened to make me disappear for a long while?

Nothing much, the storm. Took out power and internet. If I had slow internet before, I got slower or non-existing internet for weeks.

For the past 2 months, I've been sleepy. Very sleepy. I could take solid 4 hour naps.

From being a SAHM to 2 kids... I am proud to announce that baby number 3 is on the way.

Now, I'm a Mommy gonna be - again!

Dear Pedring (also known as the Storm that flooded the place),

First and foremost, I dislike your name. It sounds like something I'd call my husband when I'm old. Folks are still reeling and remembering Ondoy and here you are now. It's a sad time and you've made it worse. I just heard that now the dam near our place is releasing water and a lot of the places here is already flooded. Nueva Ecija, Bicol Regions, Manila, Pangasinan certainly Calasiao and Dagupan are experiencing flooding in all areas. Do you know what's worse? There's another storm coming. It's so depressing. A lot of our countrymen are experiencing hardships because of storms. A lot has lost their homes, property, and even loved ones. They may do a lot of forecasts, predict a lot of things but truly no one is ever really truly prepared when a storm comes. I hope that you don't cause hardships to more places. Goodbye!

My Kids will be joining the Military

Hubby grew up in a military family. His father held the position of Chief of Police in the neighboring town to their home. My husband's sister is a police officer a graduate of PNPA (Philippine National Police Academy) and another one of hubby's sister is a graduate of PMA.(Philippine Military Academy). His other sister works at NAPOLCOM (National Police Commission) as one of their writers perhaps of a newsletter that may be called Military Times.

My father-in-law and mother-in-law are raising 11 kids. The eldest would be my husband. My husband would tell me stories of how education was and still is the most important thing in their lives that their father would apply at a MilitaryVALoan.com or something equivalent to it here in the Philippines just to make sure that his kids could attend school.

With all of them becoming immersed in the military life, there is a running joke that since I only have 2 kids, one would become a PNPA cadet, the other a PMA cadet. But College is not for quite some time yet. What I am certain of however, is that whatever they decide upon. They should be happy.

My Christmas Wish

My kids are now in preschool. It's early but I'm running out of magazines to cut out. Every day, my kids are given assignments. Cut a particular shape, zoo animals, trees, plants, and anything that is relevant to their topic for the day or the week. I bought a book that I used to cut out all those basic shapes, colors and other things but I have now run out of pages.

Do you now have an inkling of what my Christmas wish is? I would like to own a printer. Not an ordinary printer but a printer with a scanner and a copier capabilities. I would like a scanner to scan old photographs and have a digital copy of them. I would like to have a copier because I would like to print and make copies of activities that my kids can do. A printer is something I need for all the rest of the future assignments and projects my kids will be assigned with.

Did you know that different printers also have different printer cartridges? There are specific printer cartridges for specific printers. You can't use a dot-matrix printer cartridge for a deskjet printer or a laserjet printer. There are a lot of companies that offer printers, and different kinds of printers. It is best to be armed with the information that you need when you intend to buy one. I for one would be looking for durability of the printer. If I am able to buy the parts I need in case the product becomes defective. I am also going to canvass the shops on what is the best option with regards to the ink and which kind will work best for me.

I'm crossing my fingers that I can be able to afford my Christmas wish by Christmas.

Taking Care of our Eyesight

Diabetics, more often than not develop complications. The complications arise in organs such as the heart, the liver, the pancreas and the eyes. I am a diabetic. My mom is a diabetic. Diabetes has affected my mom's eyesight. My mom often reminds me that I should take care of my eyes by not staying on the computer for long periods of time. I try to resist the pull of the computer but I do love writing.

I was diagnosed with astigmatism and was required to wear eyeglasses for a few months. I prefer to buy discount glasses because I want to be practical. I am raising two kids and it is best to choose more value for your money.

I am not the only one wearing eyeglasses in the family. My hubby is also wearing eyeglasses. His eyeglasses are actually worn out. The sides are getting eaten by his face, actually, his perspiration reacts to the metal of his eyeglasses which makes the eyeglasses thin out considerably.

I am considering getting him another pair of eyeglasses. There are a lot of eyeglass frames for men that are available. You can choose from a lot of designs. There are a lot of shapes to choose from, but the most flattering shape for my husband would be oval shapes. It accentuates his features and makes him look like a smart and fashionable guy.I think a perfect pair of eyeglasses would be a great idea as his Christmas gift.

Dear Finicky Weather,

Go away! or... just make up your mind already. Please! I am the type of person that when it's sunny...be sunny all day. Don't make my kids sick by being intolerably hot during mornings and overly cold in the afternoons. My kids aren't robots and they easily get sick. Seriously, I blame you. You have no other excuse for it but you and your indecision. I'd rather it rain lightly all day, or be hot all day. Don't do things halfway. Doing things halfway makes a lot of us in our household sick. It's my kids' exam week next week. If they get sick, how can we catch up with lessons? Are you going to take the exam for my kids? Of course not.
Please. Be decisive. Please. I beg you.

My 2nd Favorite Part of the House

My first favorite part of the house is where I do lots of my reading and sleeping is the bedroom. My second favorite is the kitchen. The magic happens in the kitchen. It is where food preparation and the cooking happens. I often admire a well-used and a well-placed kitchen. Kitchen is the hearth of the home. Where delicious smells waft through the air and entices you to take a moment to come in. Kitchens make a home homey.

There are a lot of styles nowadays when it comes to kitchens. Some kitchens use modern kitchen cabinets for easy accessibility for the pots, pans, and other utensils. Others opt for the woodsy feel and have everything in cabinets hidden from plain sight or creatively kept from view. Others also opt that nothing be kept in cabinets but in open shelves so that they can see and grab what they need.

A kitchen should be something that works with the cook or the chef. Your kitchen should match your style and your needs specially when you love to cook. I think it would be amazing to upgrade our kitchen into something with contemporary cabinetry. It would be a look that my friends would rave about and tell the rest of their friends. So if you're trying to revamp your kitchen feel free to look for modern kitchen cabinets, I am sure they are a sight to behold and want.

My Little Act of Rebellion

As a rule, being a stay at home mom and responsible for washing milk bottles, I don't get manicures. I only get pedicures. Once in a while, I get the urge to color my nails black, which my mom dislikes. She says that all my nails look dead. I prefer to call them 'goth'.

The manicurist prefers to do nail art though. For once, I agreed. Here's what my toes looked like, and the little foot there is my daughter's who could not resist putting her foot on mine as I took a photo of it.

Toes...toes...toes..

I feel as if it's a guilty pleasure. I don't spoil my feet. I am actually diabetic so foot care is very important but I stay away from the foot scrubs because they might overdo it. I have only trusted my feet to 2 persons my whole life. What about you guys? Adventurous enough for nail art and other things?

My pick for this week's theme is: The Day After Tomorrow

The movie stars Jake Gylenhall whom I must admit looks good as the guy you want to believe in and be with you when the world ends. Some scenes that I loved from this movie, was when they were stuck in the library and they had to choose what kind of books they would have to tear and burn, I love that they were fighting and the answer that came was so simple. Taxes. Books on Taxes. I really laughed at that part. I mean, it was the perfect choice. History will be rewritten and new ways of computing taxes if and when anyone survived would be implemented.

Other touching scenes include other countries accepting the Americans since they were the ones who were the most devastated. I also cried a bit when he tried to keep the people from going out but since he's just a kid, and everything is frozen solid the people thought they were safer risking it out there.

Going to Business School Helped my Husband

A few days back, my friends and I were discussing about education. We were a collection of parents and grandparents waiting for the dismissal of our respective wards. The conversation veered to test scores and when we should really focus on our ward's education. Opinions differed but most agree that an early start never hurts.

Nowadays, when it comes to chances of becoming employed, you need all the advantage you can get. It is definitely more difficult to get high-paying and quality jobs because people have learned the secret, that to become hired, you must invest in yourself. This is what my husband applied in his life. He is a graduate of a premier university of the country with a course of BS.Math, but he didn't stop there. He went on to study in a business school to make his curriculum vitae look good and for our future because we plan to run our own business someday.

This is the edge that he has from other college instructors in his school. It is also an edge that he can make use of in case we plan to move to a different country or province. Certainly, going to a business school helps and it wouldn't hurt if you make great grades.

A Normal Trip to Baguio...

Baguio is a place close to my heart. I was born there. Stayed for a few months and left forever. Only to return to visit doctors.

On the Way

On the way, I was riding infront...Mom and her friend was at the back. If she rode in the front, she would have suffered neck pains on the 2 and a half hour trip. First stop would be MetroBaguio Laboratories. They are the ones we've been going to for a long time now. We get our blood work and urinalysis done. Head on to Jollibee at Magsaysay where all the buses are lined up. I usually order my favorite breakfast - Tapa! and my mom would order Longganisa.

We travel on to Pink Sisters and prayed for our health and the safety of our family, friends and relatives. To relax, my mom and her friend who loves to garden went to BSU Orchidarium.

Then, it's the moment of truth. We go back to the laboratory to gather our results. But we don't leave the Orchidarium without buying some cacti, roses and other plants. We get our results. Bad Mys! Bad Mys! Bad blood sugar results and suffering from UTI... oh my! Must drink water...gallons of it.

Worse results for my Mom, but she's older and she's been diabetic longer. Her health improved though compared to last year's laboratory results. Good for Mom! Bad for me! Have lunch at SM Baguio at Deco's. Simple lunch of La Paz Batchoy - Original. Noodles weren't that cooked to my liking but it's ok.

Escaped to buy a puzzle board, a book, and bottle nips by Avent. I got attracted by an Angry Bird shirt and forgot all about the shirt that Hubby really wanted. I'm such a forgetful human.

The next part of the day is to Notre de Chartres Hospital. We're on a queue to meet up with 4 doctors. A heart specialist, a kidney specialist, and the diabetelogist. The eye doctor was cancelled because he is on vacation. I know what they're gonna say. But surprise of all surprises, the doctor ordered my mom to be confined for an executive checkup and I am forced to get one too.

Health comes first. I may resist the idea but it is for the best if I want to see my kids grow up. My lab results are in normal values except the blood sugar which I blame to peer pressure in having snacks while waiting at the canteen for my kids to be dismissed from school. I shall now stay away from rice cakes. (LOL!)

Going back to Baguio on Monday. But I will be confined inside the hospital. Come visit me there! Kidding!

Before we went home, I kept seeing the sign that announced that they sold Pancit Batil Patung. I thought that was a perfect take home food for my hubby. He's from Cagayan and I'm pretty sure he missed eating it. Got them from Gablets... I highly recommend it but the place seems deserted. Maybe they are more famous for their catering???

We recently caught in the news about the 3 year old girl who visited a neighbor, played with a gun, and accidentally shot herself. That piece of news just shocked and scared me. My husband owns a gun. We never put it in a place where children can reach it. I've just also started learning about guns, shooting a gun, cleaning a gun, keeping it safe.

Safety should be the number one priority when it comes to being a responsible gun owner. It is our job to keep the people around us safe. A gun is not to be used to commit a crime but prevent a crime from happening. Even handling the gun of someone else is a no-no, unless you've been taught the basics. Don't point the gun at persons. Keep the safety on at all times.

That accident was just so scary. It is a lesson for everyone.

Today is a very important day for our family. It is the birthday of your father. Yes, finally Daddy Pedz is the same age again with mommy. Mommy is beginning to feel so ancient. We are glad that daddy has reached the age of 31, as he jokingly said, he may be at the end of the calendar, but don't forget he will still be at the lotto, and even in bingo.

We are also celebrating the 18th anniversary of the company your grandmother put up. Hopefully, one or both of you will be interested in running it in the future. It may be little but at least it has survived18 years, and you should always be proud of that.

So to Mama...Happy Anniversary! God Bless and More Power (that's what you kids are going to say) and to Daddy, a Very Happy Birthday . Tell Daddy that his present is going to be given on Christmas as mommy is currently broke right now.

1. I find tranquility during night time when everything's quiet and I just read my books.

My Mom's Dream Business

For me to be able to attend private school here in our city, my mom who is a single mom raised me on the salary of a teacher. After a while, she decided to sell some things. She learned how to sell imported goods, shirts, clothes, lipsticks, even slippers and bedsheets. She would joke that she experienced selling everything except herself and coffins.

Now, her dream business is that of a pawnshop. She thinks there's no loss in a pawnshop. A pawnshop mainly relies on the price of gold. It is important to know the current gold price in every transaction. Jewelries are actually priced by its weight and gold prices. We even planned to attend a seminar discussing it. But most seminars are held in Manila so we didn't pursue it then.

You also have to check the gold spot or know how to spot gold from the fake ones. This is what pawnshop owners should really study the art of appraisals. Future pawnshop owners should also invest on great insurance companies, a solid security, and the study of gold and jewelry.

I agree with my mom that a pawnshop would be a good business but I think it is too much of a risk. It's a very high-risk business where a lot have experienced mugging, even murdered because of it. Thieves tend to target it because jewelry is easy to pocket and is always a sound investment since its value appreciates like land properties.

I had 2 movies in mind when I first read the topic, since I have begun to come back slowly to the blogging world. Well, first thought was Autumn in New York. But then, I went back a little earlier and found a movie that engaged me more and really made me feel New York.
New York actually is a place close to my heart because one of my aunts, and I only have 2 currently lives in New York. They are the only relatives I have that we dearly call 'New Yorkers'.
Without further ado, my pick for this week is "You've Got M@il!"

I love the part when they walk around in the morning, inspired by their conversation through email the day before. The bakeries opening, the smell of sharpened pencils, the streets and that his nickname through chat is his address. It's all totally cute! That daisies are the happiest flowers and that he needs to do a little tweaking. I could go on and on but New York was really showcased in this movie and I think it's a great movie with great actors.

If you are in my facebook account, I think you might have noticed that I went stark raving mad yesterday about Pottermore. I was just desperate to get in. When the site opened I just had to think of how in the world was I going to be able to join.

Harry Potter came into my life when the last book was about to be released. I've heard of it, seen or about to see the first movie then, and more. When the last book was released, that's when I decided to read all the books. I wanted to experience the books one after another. As the characters grew older and the plot a bit darker, I grew up with them.

I've had my kids watch the movies but it's only my son who loves to watch them with me. My daughter snobs Harry Potter unless her dad is with her. I always feel the wonder and my favorite scenes in the first movie includes the sorting hat and food magically appearing at the table. It is truly magical and epic to me.

On the personal side. I wonder how my aunt is feeling that my cousin from New York is moving to LA. I think moving to a different place after living in a place for so long is difficult. I think it would be easier for my cousin to acquire tickets though specially those tickets of Los Angeles Lakers Tickets, but then I always thought it would be easier for her to get Radio City Music Hall Tickets in New York. But I know wherever you are, everything is simpler and easier when you buy tickets online like those of Ringling Brothers Circus Tickets, Nassau Coliseum Tickets and United Center Tickets. I think it's absolutely romantic that she's going to move there for the guy that she loves. I hope the guy realizes the importance of her decision, to leave each one of her family in New York for him. I am just glad that we have other relatives in California that she could see and can help her in adjusting to the new environment.

Did you know that my blog's name used to be Thoughts and Obsessions. I miss that name. The thing behind it is that this blog is more about my everyday thoughts and what I'm obsessing about for that particular week, month, day, or that minute. Victoria Condos: A Place to Live

I've never been inside victoria condos or any other condo for that matter. I'm just a stay at home mom from the province. I've been to a hotel room though and most people say that some hotel rooms are just like condos. That a condo is a space where everything is there and I think some hotel rooms are just like that.

I know of a couple who just got married and now lives in a condominium. When I think of condominiums, I think of high rises, or a hotel like those in Hongkong, where when you go out of your hotel, you are part of the mall. Sometimes, I dream of condominiums as each floor belongs to one person, well, the rich ones or the actors who earn a lot do that.

I wonder if I could ever live that way. A condominium as my house. Maybe if the condominium had a pool, a gym, a spa and a salon of its own. Who am I kidding? My life is simple. I've learned to live with my simple life. I can dream though. The condo should have their own daycare center for my kids too, in case I wanted to start working again.

I like writing. I am not the best writer. I am not even someone you could call a good writer. Often times, I wonder about those who have a lot of blogs. How can they author so many? But then some are more gifted than others.

I've learned, now in my 4th year of blogging on and off that it is important to have niches. Niches or your own little place under the sun where your blog is truly defined and specific. How I'd love to do a travel blog and show you the wonders of my own little place here in the city that doesn't look like a city... but... I don't have a camera and I don't travel. I stay at home.

Now, my plans are to have blogs about my kids (my mom/parenting blog) but I don't think you'll learn parenting tips from me, I'm just learning myself and I don't think I'm actually good at being a parent. Although I do think my kids are doing ok.

Another blog would be for the numerous giveaways around the web which is open internationally or to people like me, from the Philippines. That's how this blog started anyway. I won from a domain contest and here I am now...4 years later.

Last but not least, a book, movie and tv blog for myself. But don't expect it to be updated. I don't go to the movies. I can watch tv when my kids are asleep. I can read books in my phone though. That's the only one I can proudly say that I can do...yet I am still not proud enough since I don't read through a Kindle and only some of the books are purchased.

This blog is mine. For me, for all the interests I've mentioned and for all the opportunities that I hope will come my way. For my life. A chronicle of my blogging life.

Victoria Real Estate: An Option to Consider

When I read novels, I like reading picturesque scenes. Scenes filled with vivid imagery. Colors of autumn or things that are vibrant like those times during spring time. Houses, and little nooks and crannies. I imagine that maybe I can do a scene in a Victoria Real Estate.

Someone conducting a tour, a street bustling with activities, a translator, negotiating on a bargain, crowds, noise, and the background of vineyards, or small shops,little cafes with chairs and tables outside under a big umbrella.

I'd expect comfort and luxury in a place like that. The inns would be quaint, or majestic, depending on your income of course. Maybe there would be condominiums. Something modern. Seriously, I can not decide. Would it be better to be rustic or modern? But that's just me, daydreaming aloud.

Girls Talk:Birthday Wish

My birthday was last May, I wished that something would be different this year. It came true. For the first time ever, we were able to go on a trip as a family. Though I am still dreaming of a bigger trip where we can finally all go together to the hometown of my hubby. He's from Tuguegarao and we have never gone there. They always visited us here in Pangasinan. That is my dream and that is my wish.

How we do Homework

I have been missing the movies, but now, I get to watch more tv when my kids are in a negotiable mood. They do more activities like coloring and mom(me) can have her turn to watch tv as they do their homework supervised.

What we do is actually put all the stuff we need, things they need for cut and paste assignments, books, notebooks, magazines, and fliers I collect in case we need to cut more things, newspaper, pencils, crayons, glue and stickers on top of our Superior Rugs.

We actually shifted to rugs just this summer. We actually had the floors on the living room and the bed room covered with those foam mats. Now, my taste runs more to Oriental Rugs, having Chinese blood running through my veins. I like both Chinese and Japanese inspired designs.

My kids have more fun on the floor. I can easily check their assignments. It is actually easier to clean up because when the task is done, I just get a broomstick and sweep. My mom likes Oriental Rugs too. Maybe it makes her feel closer to her dad who was pure Chinese. Vacuum cleaners are also easier to use on rugs.

When my kids are older, I dream of getting the house redone. The ones who sold us our rugs said that they also do home service where they measure every inch of your house so that the house has a nicely put rug inside. I think that would be rich, decadent and amusing. It would be a dream for me. Walking on something soft and fluffy in your bedroom. Something tasteful with a very central focus in the living room. The hallway with something that makes the hall brighter. I think a rug when it is tasteful or beautiful is actually a cheap and a nice way to change how your house looks. You can even hang them on walls.

One thing I want to learn though while we're still talking about rugs is how to remove clay, modelling clay to be precise, easily from rugs. I think they are the stickiest of things and I don't know where my kids can play with them. Dried up clay is fine but new ones or ones that are still moist tend to stick to the rug. I've tried broomsticks but I usually get tired. Do you know of a simpler solution?

One thing's for sure. My kids have more fun on the floor. What about your kids?

I try not to go online so much...but I can't. I haven't found the balance that I want. I guess if you've known me from the start, you'd know that by now...there are times that I drove myself blogging. All you have to do is look at my February post and I think I almost did 60 posts for just 28 days.

Then there comes a time when I'm just burned out. I'd focus on facebook and obsess over games. When I get bored, go back to blogging. When I get stuck...I dream of an online business. I remember the days of the phones as long as the person's face, covering the side of the face from hair to chin with big antennas you had to extend and turn around to find the best signal.

Cellphones and their possible uses have totally evolved and with more telecom players (3) at least we now have more options and more ways to become connected.

Before, my dream plan was Quattro. 4 phone lines, unlimited calls to the circle of 4. I thought that would be perfect for me, hubby, and the 2 kids. But that was the plan when they get to senior highschool if and when k12 is implemented.

My Plans if I ever go to California or New York

I have often wondered about living in the States. I often imagine that if I ever went there then by now I most certainly would be a professional in applying makeup. My cousins ..all of them looks so sophisticated. They know how to dress for a date, for going out with family, it comes so naturally and easy to them. They make it seem effortless.

I would love to stay at home and just watch tv. That to me, is the highlight of my visit to the states, to be able to see the tv series that I wait for so long here in the Philippines. Other things on my list would be to visit a Dollar Store, and Target or Macy's ...plain curiousity. Oh, I almost forgot to visit Radio Shack... and buy a gazillion of rechargeable batteries in all shapes and sizes imaginable and chargers too.

But knowing my Aunt and Uncle, if I ever do visit, they will surely make me visit tourist spots. In California, I'm pretty sure I'll be seeing the Walk of Fame, which my mom has photos of when she visited. An Ocean Park and probably Nevada. In New York, Broadway was where my Aunt took my mom when she visited.
I wonder how my aunt or uncle buys tickets for performances or sports events like United Center tickets, Daniel Tosh tickets , The Masters tickets, Jersey Boys tickets, or even Joel Osteen tickets. Maybe they'll buy online for convenience.

I just remembered that I also want to visit an amusement park, see a county fair and a flea market. Probably help in a soup kitchen as well. Visit a hospital to learn more about how they manage diabetes in the states and inquire about a lapband. I'd also open a bank account there if possible, for paypal. Buy myself a magicjack. Ask about Tivo. Ride a subway train. Eat hotdogs from a hotdog stand. Visit universities...maybe Long Island University. Get a Long Island Icetea at Long Island!!! See my cousin-in-law's artist studio.

Unlike other blogging friends and blogging discoveries, I did not make a big deal out of my birthday this year. 31 isn't as pretty as 30. But with a new year added to my age, I can't help but think about getting insurance. I actually smile everytime I hear the commercial that goes, "What about you? Do you have a plan? Let's talk". I'd love to talk to you but then I'd have to a steady source of income first and foremost.

It is better to be prepared in life. It is always better to have a plan, and then a plan b, even a plan c and a backup plan to all the other alphabets. My cousin-in-law has a sick dad in the states, I might ask her if she has availed of Aptus Insurance. Her dad is really sick and I wonder if she got him a seniors Burial Insurance as well. They say he's just waiting.

What is my memorable birthday experience and how did I celebrate it?

My memorable birthday experience is my 18th birthday simply because it was a time when I brought home my college friends to our house for a 4-day vacation and the plan was that there was no celebration that was going to happen. The surprise came when my mom decided to throw me a party since I had enough friends to do the 18 things and all. But that was not the really memorable part, the memorable part would be that in the history of debuts and what nots, I was not in sync with my motif which was green and I wore a brown pantsuit, and changed into a dark blue dress. LOL!

I still have leftover enthusiasm from the 2 weddings I attended. I wonder whether wedding dresses vancouver styled and designed would be any different. Perhaps since the culture and exposure plus the weather is different, wedding gowns and wedding dresses would be quite different.

I just love the look of brides in their wedding gowns. I do believe that women are at their most beautiful when they are wearing their wedding dress. I think it is truly one of the most unforgettable things in life that a woman cherishes. Sometimes I wish I could have had a haute couture gown as a wedding dress. It must be the rage nowadays. The most popular look for a wedding gown today would be that of Kate Middleton's gown. Don't you agree? I can bet that most little girls and soon to be brides would like to look like the Duchess who might be Queen.

Bloghopping along, I get jealous of the new and varied memes that the blogging community has now opened up. I'm still going on a negotiation as to my internet connection for a faster blogging experience and somehow I'm beginning to think that to be a successful professional blogger, one must be willing to invest. Unfortunately paypal is depleted and I haven't had many opportunities yet...but due to a recent update by Google...I am hoping that good things will come my way.

I still want to do LTINS or Letters That I'll Never Send but I want to fix my blog so that they know what it's about and to encourage others to join. That is in the replanning and reworking process so hopefully loyal letter writers will be back. Did I mention the Google update, it won't hurt to have your link in my blog right now..I hope.
