Today's meme- Bathroom Musings

1. What do you read when you are sitting on the toilet?

2. Do you pee in the shower?

Not me, my daughter does. Usually right before she takes a bath.

3. Do you always wash your hands after you use the toilet?

Absolutely, positively, yes.

4. Do you allow someone to come into the bathroom while you are using the toilet?

I scream at my kids but they do it anyway.

5. Do you clean your shower in the nude?

I pick up after myself but cleaning the shower is the job of someone else.

6. When you use the toilet at someone else's house do you go through their medicine cabinet and/or their bathroom cabinets and drawers?

Nope, I just try to do what I have to do and get out. I am usually shy in using the bathroom.

8. For the Women...Have you ever fallen into the toilet because someone left the toilet seat up?

Thankfully, not yet. I try to check before I sit, in case my daughter uses the toilet. She's the one who might fall.

9. Do you courtesy flush?
I remember this... hmm. I try to avoid a messy toilet as much as possible so I don't do courtesy flush. But once in desperate times, I did.

10. Do you light a match or a candle or spray an air freshner when you are finished pooping?

11. Have you ever fallen asleep on the toilet?
Thankfully, NO.

12. What is the strangest thing you have ever flushed down the toilet?

A ponytail.

Thanks to Ria of My Journey to Life for this tag!

Wait, it isn't a tag, it's an award - a happiness award and with it, comes great responsibility.

Reviewing a Review Blog

Dear Reader,

This is one task I truly am afraid of. The gracious hosts of the biggest contest in the blogging universe is tempting fate and everyone to risk their neck for 50 as in FIFTY big BIG points for a review of their blogs. Now, my rhetorical question goes this way: How do you Review a Review Blog? Honestly, I am just plain impressed with these bloggers that I'd love to go out and meet them and pick their brain. Pehpot is such a tremendous writer who had picked out wonderful niches under the sun and she can really address any and all blog topics she decides upon.

Reviews Inc. is a blog that does exactly that. Reviews. Blog Reviews. Product Reviews, Movie Reviews and a whole lot more. The header of the blog is so cute and precise, you really know it's a female blogger writing her point of view. The layout is neat, the sidebars aren't too crowded and I love the colors red, white, black and blue just makes it look totally professional.

This site is perfect for those looking for product recommendations, I found her post on calming lotion, both informative and very persuasive. It makes me feel as if I not only want to lather it on myself, but bathe on it too, and perhaps share it with my stressed husband. Even to the point of sharing it with my super stressed mom.

If you're someone looking for movies to sink your teeth into. Look no further, Reviews Inc., is a coucher and her movie picks are ones you shouldn't miss. She doesn't bore you with her descriptions and frankly, you should expect the unexpected with her writings. To borrow a line from a movie production, which has momentarily slipped my mind: If it's from Pehpot, it must be good.

No doubt about it, you'll be visiting her site and without a doubt trusting her reviews.

A Great Designer

Dear Reader,

The first time you look at this blog of a work-at-home Mom, you'll be amazed with the design. I always love great layouts and take note: she designed it herself. Kaye is a great blog designer. Just take note of the Marce's club blogs. Designed by kaye.

Let's do this Review, top to bottom:
Name of the Blog: Random WAHM Thoughts
Header: Says everything you need to know about the blog
Family.Friends.Work.And Everything in Between.
Obviously, a female writer.

Sidebars: an interesting mix of friends, work, and how she earns $$$$.
I love the fact that the sidebar posts what the job is and how much she's earned.
It's very informative and tempting.

Content: Ranges from Personal Stories like those of her entries to Girls Talk
Blogger Hacks/Tweaks which I highly recommend and am using right now.You must try her top commentator widget... really works!
Designer Post Signature! This one was the first entry that I think I ever read and caught my attention. I was late for this, when she was giving them away. I think I even cried. It was a time when I really wanted one and didn't know how to achieve what I like. The second one was her blog layout, so unique and so chic. I always love unique blog layouts/templates.

Don't let her blog title fool you, the thoughts may be random, but sometimes they're pretty deep. Her thoughts are just a plethora of a lot of things and a lot of interests. Surely, you will be coming back to read up on her answers to tags, her sometimes rated answers to Girl Talk, stories of friendship and giveaways, contests, and designs that will blow you away. She can definitely make a career out of blog templates, and when she starts charging, I bet she can give the other blog designers, a good run for their money and tough competition.

Go ahead, click on the square below and check her blog out.

GT: First Boyfriend

Dear Girl Talkers,

I don't think talking about this, requires my bravery. I was very lucky in the aspect that the husband is the first boyfriend. He was the only one who asked. Wait, I think I did the asking. He was and still is.. my bestfriend at my stay in U.P. I love talking about how I first met him. I remember it clearly but not the date (signs of old age). It was the first few days of class at U.P., we were staying at the dorm, Kalayaan to be exact. I had made 3 new friends, future members of the Vampire Society. One of my friends, Irene was taking up Chemical Engineering. She is a great chess player and then one day, she told me about this conceited guy whom she had an argument with. His name is Peds. He is a B.S. Math student and they argued over a chess move and a chair. She was so enraged, and we all thought that the V.S. should teach this guy some manners. They introduced us but to my chagrin, he wasn't a conceited guy after all and it was just a simple misunderstanding. To our further surprise, he was my classmate in Natural Sciences, a class which made us all sleepy since it was an airconditioned auditorium held right after lunch. It was a shared class by many freshmen of different courses. The Math students had English as their next class and they usually were rushing assignments in Nat.Sci. We had a deal then, they would help us in our Math assignments and shared halves of assignments in Nat. Sci, We'd help in English since that was our stronger suit. Freshmens at work. I could go on and on but then that wouldn't be the scope of GT.
We became an us on May 20, 1998. It was a few days after I turned 18, and he was my escort. I brought him home, along with other college friends for my debut. It was an unplanned debut which we tried to make the most out of. He finally asked me to be his girlfriend. He is my first and last boyfriend. I was his second. Don't let me go into my insecurities with his first... please. He became my husband and finally, father to my children.

Letters That I'll Never Send: Dear Reader

Dear Reader,

Hi! If you're a Letters that I'll Never Send participant, thank you. If you're reading this as you pass by, thanks a lot too! For participants, I have something new in store for you, and I know that you're probably busy doing Girls Talk, but hey I love that carnival too. Oh, I lost my tirade... let me restart. I am now offering a new twist to these letters. As I get bored by writing about my dictates, then here's a chance for you. I have decided to make every 3rd Thursday of the month a free for all. In short, write a letter, any letter, whether it's a rant, a rave, secret love letter, you name it ... you can do it on the 3rd Thursday of the month! All I ask in return is that you leave a link to your wonderful post at the mcklinky in the end of this post? Capish?

If this becomes a hit and I get more participants....keep your fingers crossed and we'll do it twice a week. I'm so tempted to make at least 1 week about letters to kids. I really need to start plowing on with my advices/tips/guides to my kids while I'm still strong. I feel the signs of old age creeping in slowly as I turn 3...oh ... soon.

Well, that's it. I'm keeping this short.
Remember: every 3rd Thursday of the month, write a letter, any topic. Post it here!
Thanks!

Just About Anything

Right off the bat, you know that the blog is Just About Anything. Kikamz writes about a lot of things, hence the title of the blog. The blog layout design is amazing and take note, she did it herself and gives credit where credit is due. The blog is refreshing and the writer is based in Germany which gives me a wider view of the world. You see, I'm from the province and having international writers just make me more aware, more curious and well, at least I learn from them. Imagine, I learned that there's an area where you can drive without a license. Isnt that something?

Something noteworthy about this blog is that it hosts and boasts of

Tuesday Couch Potatoes is a blog carnival/meme where a theme for a movie is selected every week and you post your top pick for the said genre. I'm a proud participant of this blog meme. It's where couchers get to meet. So, if your in the mood to write about your taste in movies, head on out to this blog every Tuesday. I'm pretty sure you'll be coming back for more.

Like Kikamz, you may get to even start your own lists of movies to watch based on some of the other couchers' recommendations. Most couchers offer summaries, photo of the movie, or a trailer. You may get to read at least an entry that has 5 recommendations for that particular genre.

So, I definitely recommend this site for newbies or pros. Her blog is a must-read!

Definitely on the List!

Dear Reader,

There's a new blog in town and it can give you the answers to questions you've always wanted to ask. The blog caters to health questions, current hot topics and parenting! Well, parents always need help and this blog truly is a great source of information.Like when you got pregnant, did you have stretch marks? Ever wondered how to get rid of them? Fear not, I found the blog that teaches how to get rid of stretchmarks. Finally, I have something to share to Winnie since my stretchmarks are indelibly etched on my tummy, I can teach her everything I read from Mom Conversations. You can have your pick of topics like picking out toys for your kids, to a lot of health items, and even the hottest topics. Imagine, big stores not donating their clothes to charity but putting holes in them and ripping them so it won't be of any use to anyone. From hot topics, issues that need attention, healthcare and things for a mom, it's definitely worth your while to visit and have a conversation with this Mom. Don't get me started on her blog layout. You know I adore blogs with pretty designs and all that but this blog takes the cake with its layout as being crisp, professional and neat looking. The tone of the blog is very professional but still conversational. You'll really feel that the writer knows what she is talking about, not just carelessly tossing an opinion. It has the feel that all articles written are done meticulously and with research, which is much more than other bloggers can offer. Umma is such a gifted writer, I'll bet you'll be putting that bookmark and replying to her posts.

10 Things and then some

Dear Reader,

Here are 9 things that I can say about Anak ni Kulapo:

  1. It's written in Filipino! (Tagalog mga pipz!)
  2. He has an incredible office.
  3. His sense of humor is impeccable.
  4. Buraot is also the writer of the blog, Anak ni Kulapo
  5. You should expect funny photos, I particularly favor this one.
  6. His layout makes sense, with a frequently asked questions section, how can he go wrong?
  7. His is the only blog I've encountered that as soon as I get there, I hear applause!
  8. He is the only blog I've encountered that has a rating ( PG 13 and PG 75), the explanation is also funny.
  9. He is fair, check this out. One for males and one for females.
If his I am Buraot blog is serious, political and filled with current issues. This blog is on the lighter side of the hemisphere. Filled with funny photos, anecdotes, observations and more. You'll just be laughing your a** off!
I particularly love the photos of his office. It's really really funny, imagine having an office that is totally recyclable. He even has 2 monitors. But definitely, easily in danger, in case of fire. I also love his sense of fair play. There was a post of totally wacky photos of drunk humans and he did make it fair. He not only posted about males that are drunk and compromised in funny positions but he made a post about females too. His blog is absolutely hilarious. Those who can't understand Filipino (Tagalog), well, it doesn't really matter. You'd still want to go and see for yourself. Furthermore, I do believe that the quote " A picture is worth a thousand words", well, in Anak ni Kulapo, the pictures are worth a thousand words and then some more.

10. P.S. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Mommy Seiko

Dear Reader,

Did you ever want to know more about Japan? Hear stories of being stay at home mom to pretty princesses. I first read about this site when I joined Mommy Moments. Her entries were very refreshing for me. It showed me a glimpse of a future I can have for myself too, of kids growing up, of Japanese culture, and delightful food. Yummy yummy food.

I love that her header has a photo of her family, its very endearing and makes the blog more personal. But nothing beats her profile picture in the about me page, totally enticing. Her sidebars are filled with her choices of wonderful memes that she participates with. You can see entries for Mommy Moments which is a delight because some photos are of teens, and sometimes of kids. Pixel bug Weekend are great photos that show some slices of her life and she also does Girl Talk, Toy Hunt, Couple's corner and Food Trip Friday. Least I forget, she's a coucher like me and I love her entry when we talked about Disney Princesses and she talked about the movie, Cinderella III, A twist in time (hope I remembered that one correctly)

Seiko's Diary is a diary of a mom, as a mom, of family moments, of her life.

Definitely, a great addition to your roster of blog favorites.

Must Read!

Dear Reader,

I am Buraot. Oh wait, that's not me He refers to his blog as A day in the life of an antisocial. Buraot is just one of the major sponsors of the biggest blogging contest in the blogging universe! Is it me or has it been such a long time that I haven't been to his site? It underwent a major theme overhaul. It's a magazine type blog. For those who don't know. Buraot is responsible for the hundreds, nay, thousands of these little things.Entredropper.It's the entredropper It holds up to its promise too. Those who love earning entrecard credits can take a hint or two from his blog. You earn entrecard credits in just minutes. He is an opinionated writer. Writes well, as far as I've read. A credible voice in the blogging universe.
His latest thoughts for instance, is a very big issue, and definitely a must read. It affects bloggers and issues we often face. Besides, standing out in this wide blogging universe, don't be afraid, he has a pretty satisfying introduction, read it and get hooked. If you love to read editorials, opinionated, and voiced out loud opinions, his blog is a must read for you. He offers refreshing perspectives on politics, on war, on surviving and the state of our country. He talks of issues that are close to the hearts of all Filipinos. He may not be in the Philippines anymore, but you definitely know where his heart is.

TCP: Order in the Court

If there's anything, whenever I hear the words courtroom drama, my thoughts automatically shift to John Grisham. I went on a reading phase where anything John Grisham wrote, I devoured with much gusto.

I went on a research spree for this one again. But I only have 1 movie in mind for this category. It's the photo you see above. I love the actors. I love the execution even if it wasn't a direct lift from the book. It basically had the same essence.

In the book, the plot was a case against a tobacco company. But before I go on and on about the book. Let's concentrate on the movie.

Here's the trailer for the movie:

I think the trailer says it all. I just love the combination of John Cusack and Rachel Weisz.
I love how they made the jury eat out. How they said they can deliver the verdict each team needed...when in reality they only wanted 1 ending.
It's a great film, complete with drama and the action.
How the jurors are just people, with flaws, with secrets, sometimes manipulated, and unpredictable.

To Auntie Betty

Dear Auntie Betty,

It comes as such a shock to us that you've kept something to yourself for so long. I wish we had learned of it sooner so that maybe we could have more hope, stood a bigger fighting chance. Don't get me wrong, we have not lost hope. It just saddens us that the illness has come at a time when we need you to be healthy the most. I worry about my nieces and nephews, your grandkids who will be left in your care while you are sick.
Prayers can only do so much, you should have sought a doctor's help. Blame will not get us anywhere. Instead, we all look forward to discovering what stage your illness is and what treatment we can use to counter the effects of that illness. We will not stop praying. We will look for all means possible to treat and combat that disease. Be strong. Do what you love to do the most. Live your life to the fullest, every second of it is precious. Don't eat read meat. I love you. You've always been someone I could run to.

TCP: Girl Power

Dear Reader,

Why is it that when I read or hear the word girl power what comes to mind is the image of Charlie's Angels, the Powerpuff girls and after a few more seconds I receive the image of Totally Spies. I'm betting that most couchers would write Charlie's Angels the old ones and the new ones I imagine. I'm still wracking my brain for an entry that wouldn't be them.

So, when an answer evades me, I turn to my bestfriend "Google" and found that Girl Power is a phrase made popular by spice girls and girl power often refers to feminism and/or warriors. Think Amazon women or Buffy or Echo of Dollhouse.

Well, if ever there was a woman who impressed me in her role as a warrior, it would be Kiera Knightley as Guenevere of King Arthur. Then I delved even further and found one movie I really like and can actually tell you the story, but I bet you all know this movie so I wouldn't bore you.

If you haven't watched it, you can read all the details here

All I can say is it's action packed, she kicks but*! shows women are strong even if we do show emotions. That we can handle guns, rolling, kicking a** and hand to hand combat.

I Heart Ebooks and Games

I promised myself that I'd go back to doing what I love the most.

If there's anything that gave me a happy feeling. It's the feeling of being able to provide a service. A satisfied customer just made my day.

I was an online seller a long time ago.

I also admit that I'm a poohrate, a cheapskate, and a freebie hunter.

My favorite things to sell are ebooks, which I also buy from other sellers and some I find by myself.
I also sell games.
One of my favorites would be the dash series starring Flo, the waitress. I really went on that journey and I discovered that some people like playing games too.

Recently, I rediscovered the joy of reading again. I was fully shocked to discover that my Kane and Abel, a novel of Jeffrey Archer had 2 more books, one in Florentina's view and another one from a Secret Service agent. It's just incredible.

Another series that I religiously read was that of James Patterson's Alex Cross and still James Patterson's Women's Murder Club, which just surprised me even more because there are a whole number of books that I haven't read in the series, and I thought I was updated.

Even more amazed that there was more Kay Scarpetta novels from Patricia Cornwell.

Then what was even more amazing, was there were a million more authors I've never heard of. It's like being bumped in the head, that there are new authors, new novels, and that there are some books I shouldn't miss.

More thriller authors, paranormal series, I even got hooked on teen-literature again. I'm now reading Morganville vampires and I hear that the Weather Warden series of the same author is also interesting. It's just taken me by surprise, that here I am, almost 30 and I can still get hooked again to literature geared to teens. That there are literally hundreds more of books I want to read, then there's chick-lit, supposedly catering to women of my age, which also is starting to rear its head and make me pay attention.

So, I was wondering... do you have favorite authors?

Can you share yours? I would certainly love to venture and try out different authors.

I've heard Paolo Coelho is good. But I haven't read him. I am into suspense/thriller/action/vampires/paranormal/mystery stuff. Romance plays well to my eyes too. I love Julie Garwood and Judith Mcnaught. I hear that there are tons more authors. I also love epic dramas of Danielle Steel.

This has become a very long post. What I'm trying to say is... if ever you're interested in buying, reading, sampling an ebook, check out my shop. Just click on the word shop at my header. Leave a comment or a request. I'm here and I can help. You can help me by buying from me too.

Letters That I'll Never Send: Next Year Me.

Dear Mys,

This is a letter to you from 2010. I hope this reaches you well. I'm just writing to remind you of everything that you want to accomplish this year. I hope that you'll be able to send Paul and Maegan to school. I hope that you at least learn to cook this year. I also fervently wish that you finally get to manage the business you can manage. I know that the first 2 weeks of January for you has been full of stress, what will all of the bad news about health that we are receiving. I hope that even with all these, you still have the desire to cope and to hope, and to dream. We need a healthier lifestyle, and a drive to pursue our dreams. I am so looking forward to a new year, with all of us in better health and already a businesswoman. That is the goal. Only a few, but I hope we can stick to it. As twin always says, "Aja!".

TCP: Blockbuster Movies

Dear TCP addicts like me,

Oh my, what a difficult category.

So what runs in my mind when I hear Blockbuster Movies is those in the league of Harry Potter and Lord of the Ring.

But then, I keep trying to recall that in my entries for TCP, I seem to have forgotten all about 1 movie which struck a chord deep into immortal soul. (Isn't that a dead giveaway?)

So without further ado,

my pick for blockbuster movies is:

Image credit goes to Deviant Artist: AuroraInk.

I think it's a great blockbuster movie, in the sense that it is something I shared with my niece. That moms like me could relate to it. That the movie made me reminisce all the feelings of falling in love. It's just amazing how I heard about it on the news, people camping out just to catch the premiere. People calling themselves Twihard. Simply put, the books combined with the movie is just a great experience. You see the words come to life, enacted by actors. I think the amazing thing about the books and the movies is that they have all the necessary elements for everyone, action sequences and motorcycles and car talk for the guys. The romance, butterflies in the stomach, and cheesy lines for the girls.

What's your blockbuster movie?
